Who are we?
We are young people from the Bradford District that have volunteered to give up our time to look at services that are being provided to young people. We are looking to recruit more Young Commissioners to work on our next project.

What we are trying to achieve?

The Council has made a commitment to making improvements to services to young people by setting up a Young People’s Scrutiny Commission. The Scrutiny Commission will look at all services provided by both the Council and other agencies to young people aged 11 to 19.

How you can get involved

YU? Because we need your views and your voice to really make a difference to all young people. It is only you that uses a particular service that can really tell us what it is like and how it can be made better.

Got an opinion on how well young people are served by bus operators, train companies and taxis? Are your opinions heard? Want to help improve things?

If you can answer yes to any of the above the Young People’s Scrutiny Commission wants to hear from you.

Set up by Bradford Council, the Commission is made up of young people, councillors and independent members. Its aim is to investigate how well services – the things we use or rely on in daily life, such as transport – meet the needs of young people. Then we make recommendations on how theses things could be improved.

The Commission has already done a detailed study of bullying and told the Council how it could do things better. Now the Commission wants to renew its membership of young people for a detailed look at TRANSPORT.
